About
The School of Sports (CDS) at the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC), established in 1973, has built a legacy of over 50 years as a center of excellence in teaching, research, outreach, and management. The CDS community has played a transformative role in advancing scientific and technological knowledge across various domains of Physical Education. This impact is evident in its dedication to advancing research, sharing knowledge, and fostering the integration of undergraduate and graduate education with professional training and the provision of solutions and services to society.
The CDS comprises the Department of Physical Education (DEF), which offers undergraduate programs in Physical Education, including a teaching degree. Additionally, it is home to the Graduate Program in Physical Education (PPGEF), a program recognized as a regional and national leader in its field. In the most recent evaluation by the Brazilian Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES), the PPGEF achieved the highest possible score of 7, underscoring its academic excellence and influence.
